TITLE:              PBIS Technical Assistance Coordinator, 1.0 FTE (185-228 days)

LOCATION(S):     Anticipated openings in Southern IL Region; and Central IL Region.

REPORTS TO:  PBIS Technical Assistance Director

JOB GOAL:     

• To expand and sustain implementation of PBIS at the Universal, Secondary, and Tertiary levels in Illinois Schools

• To deliver effective training and technical assistance to schools and districts for all levels of PBIS implementation and evaluation

• To support implementation of multiple school, district, and Network level data systems for decision making, assessment of implementation and outcomes, and to further research and evaluation

• To provide leadership in development of Illinois PBIS policy, funding, curriculum, research, and public relation components

• Develop collaboration with multiple systems including DCFS, Special Education, Mental Health, Local Area Networks (LAN), and other service providers, to support success for all students in the school and community                          

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Masters degree in education, educational administration, social work, psychology or related field

• Experience and expert training skills in effective behavior interventions including school-wide, classroom and individual student behavior intervention plans, school improvement and cultural diversity

• Ability to manage multiple components of program development, training, technical assistance and evaluation tasks

• Knowledge in school-wide systems of PBIS, LAN’s, wraparound, multiple systems perspective (DCFS, Education, Special Education, Mental Health, etc.)

• Experience with curriculum design and coordination for staff development and school improvement activities

• Experience working with district level Leadership Teams providing School Improvement decision-making and support

• Experience with implementing  intense student support as a behavior specialist, teacher, principal or related role in schools

• Expertise in data based decision making

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide trainings and technical assistance at the PBIS Universal, Secondary and Tertiary levels.

• Conduct and provide technical assistance on various school and district evaluation tools, such as the School-wide Evaluation Tool, Benchmarks of Quality, Self-Assessment Survey, Team Implementation Checklist, Safety Survey, etc.

• Compiles, reviews and reports behavior and academic evaluation data for individual schools and school districts through completion and submission for quarterly and end of year reports to the state grant directors.

• Collaborates with schools and the District Leadership Team before they adopt PBIS to insure integrity of implementation, financial support, and secure commitment for external coaching capacity and trainings, and provides ongoing technical assistance to district and school PBIS Leadership Teams.

• Networks with Local, Regional, State and Federal PBIS resources (i.e., Project Choices, Autism, LANs, DCFS) and initiatives (i.e., ASPIRE, SEL, Family Support).

• Participates in regional, statewide and national PBIS leadership conferences and meetings.

• Perform administrative duties associated with position (i.e., calendar development, expense reports, preparation of training materials)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Workdays to be determined by the PBIS Director with compensation set by the parameters of the granting agency and the SASED Board of Control.

METHOD OF EVALUATION:  Performance will be evaluated by the PBIS Statewide Director and/or Technical Assistance Directors.
