TITLE:
Evaluation and Research Assistant
POSITION GOAL:
Support overall project implementation with specific focus on the evaluation and research components of the Illinois PBIS Network per accountability requirements of the Illinois Continuous Improvement Plan (I-CIP) and the National PBIS Center. The Research Assistant reports to the Director of Operations.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Full Time. Non-exempt. Salary, benefits, work hours/days as established by the Directing Board per SASED and the Statewide grant (non-collective bargaining employees)
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s required
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years experience in data-based support, data management and/or research assistance.
PBIS Systems Knowledge a plus
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated proficiency utilization of the following database and software systems:
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, Excel
Experience with ETO case management/performance management software a plus
Experience in html and SQL a plus
Ability to work as part of the team, and share in related tasks and responsibilities with the Statewide Director, Director of Operations, Research Director, Evaluation/Research Coordinator, and Information Technology Coordinator
Prepare reports/communications.
Ability to work effectively with people from various backgrounds.
Strong organizational and communication skills, including independent writing skills.
Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks with accuracy
Experience and knowledge with office equipment, including fax machine, various printers, copy machine, LCD projector and all other equipment as necessary.
Ability to have productive professional relationships with administrators, colleagues, students and community to achieve high levels of client satisfaction.
Ability to utilize technology to support performance responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Function as integral member of the Network team to support all functions of the project
Support evaluation and research tasks as determined by the Statewide Director, Director of Operations, and Evaluation/Research Coordinator
Ensure data systems are up-to-date and organized for maximum efficiency in implementing project
Ensure accurate and efficient communication systems for ongoing evaluation and dissemination tasks
Data entry and database maintenance
Handle office and network correspondence, including answering, assisting, routing, and following up from general office calls, as well as calls specific to evaluation and research
Responsible of performing daily departmental office tasks such as filing, maintaining records, copying, and other similar duties
Prepares routine and advanced correspondence including letters, memorandums, mass mailings, and reports
Prepare/assemble materials for conferences and trainings
Internet research for special projects as needed
SPECIFIC TASKS:
Ensure all implementing PBIS schools are included in the database with accurate demographic and programmatic data. Ensure all PBIS contacts, coaches, superintendents and principals’ information is accurate for periodic mailings.
Maintain tracking system for outcome data for exemplar sites to ensure statewide progress and accountability reporting. Prompt schools to fill out evaluation forms.
Communicate with all PBIS coordinators on data collection procedures and timelines on a regular basis. ie: scheduling of SETs, EBS’s, team checklist and School Profile.
Facilitate and organize the collection of annual school/district data in conjunction with the Evaluation/Research Coordinator.
Present data in usable format for user friendly analysis.
Run queries and analyses from the PBIS database for various reports, trainings, and presentations throughout the year.
Create reports of school and district level data to be distributed to coaches and other school and district leaders.
Assist with other administrative/clerical tasks in office (i.e. phones, mailings) as needed.
Develop, organize and maintain a system to track available data from ISBE including ISAT scores, Special Education placement and achievement data, etc..
