The four schools in Homewood SD 153 have been implementing PBIS for five years and are currently focusing on strengthening their Tier 2/Tier 3 systems.  There has been a decrease in the percentage of students with multiple office discipline referrals (ODRs) since beginning Tier 2 implementation.  For example, Millennium School has reduced their percentage of students having 2-5 ODRs from 14% in 2009-10 to only 8% in 2010-11.  They appear to be maintaining this trend in the current year with 7% of students having 2-5 ODRs as of February 2012.

This spring, teams in three Homewood schools, Millennium School, Willow School, and Winston Churchill School, self-assessed their schools’ Tier 2/Tier 3 systems with the Benchmarks for Advanced Tiers (BAT).  Reviewing the BAT data allowed the teams and External Coach to select focus items for their action plans.  These items include clear decision rules for success of Tier 2 and entry into Tier 3 interventions, improved communication with staff and family on Tier 2/Tier 3 interventions, and more staff being trained on Tier 2/Tier 3 data systems.
