Tier 1 Team Training (ES/MS)

On January 28-29, 2015 (8:30-3:30), The Midwest PBIS Network is hosting a 2-day PBIS Tier 1 Team Training, at the:

The PBIS Tier 1 Team training on January 28-29, 2015 is a special event co-facilitated with our national partners from Maryland.  All Midwest PBIS Network trainers will also be participating, for ongoing professional development.  The Maryland Tier 1 Team training content is aligned to the Benchmarks of Quality tool (BoQ), and will be used in an upcoming national training initiative.  Most schools implementing PBIS in Illinois are already familiar with both the BoQ, as well as the new Tiered Fidelity Inventory.  Participating schools will be encouraged to understand both tools as needed to ensure fidelity of implementation.  

Participating teams will also learn Tier 1 foundations, plan for initial implementation, establish goals, review example artifacts of implementation, plan to secure and maintain faculty buy-in, build fluency in use of data for decision-making, and incorporate classroom management strategies into the Tier 1 components. 

• • Who should participate: This Tier 1 Team training is specifically for district-based coaches and full school teams from the elementary and middle school level. School teams should include the building administrator, a designated school-based PBIS coach, and up to four additional Tier 1 team members (staff representatives; family representatives; clinical staff, etc.).  

  • What to bring: Please bring at least one laptop per team to share for downloading materials, and documenting team decisions on your action plan.

• Lunch is provided.

  • Registration fee: The cost for the two days is $600 per school team (for up to 6 members; the district-based PBIS coach can participate free along with their six-member school teams), and includes lunch on both days. 

  • Readiness: Remember to visit our PBIS National Center partners' websites (Wisconsin's or Florida's) to view readiness information and ensure that your team is ready for the two-day training.
