FBA/BIP Training
This training will provide an introduction to the concepts and systems necessary to utilize Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention Planning (FBA-BIP) to support individual student needs. These sessions will focus specifically on the processes and tools needed to assist coaches, facilitators and problem-solving teams in planning and implementing brief FBA-BIP.
Who Should Participate:
This series is designed for specific personnel identified to facilitate the FBA-BIP development process, coaches, and problem-solving teams:
District/building based coaches specifically focused on supporting Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 interventions
Potential FBA-BIP facilitators: (i.e. counselors, social workers, school psychologists, behavior specialists, special education personnel, community partners, etc.)
Problem Solving Team members: individuals who will help in the development of behavior intervention plans.
Participants can expect to leave being able to:
Identify when an FBA-BIP is necessary
Identify the essential systems needed for an effective FBA/BIP process
Identify the steps for conducting an effective FBA, including data to determine maintaining function of behavior
Learn the critical components of function-based BIPs
Develop evaluation plans that are efficient and effective
All participants will register for the entire series including two on-site training days* followed by a technical assistance webinar. The webinars are specifically focused on building skills of coaches and facilitators to be able to write technically sound FBA-BIPs.
